My name is Holly, and this is my story.

It’s a story about a girl who grew up in the cornfields of Ohio. About a girl who left those fields for the foothills of North Carolina. About a girl who has no idea  what is next, but is here recording all the beautiful (and not-so-beautiful) moments on her journey.

I grew up in beautiful Ohio, and left for a small Bible college in North Carolina when I was a young 18. It was there that I met my city-boy, Chicago husband. Only the most amazing man in the world could convince me to leave behind Ohio for the South, and he did. We were married on May 15, 2010, and moved back down to NC so he can finish his Masters Degree. I work part-time for a small mission board and full-time making our little house a home.

The most amazing part of my story is how a mighty God could love a tiny girl from Ohio. I accepted his free gift of salvation at the age of four, and he has been molding and fashioning my story ever since. I fail. I fail big-time. But he picks me up, brushes me off, and puts me back on the right path. And I stand amazed at His love and grace.

“There are moments on our journey following the Lord
Where God illumines ev’ry step we take.
There are times when circumstances make perfect sense to us,
As we try to understand each move He makes.
When the path grows dim and our questions have no answers, turn to Him.

Bow the knee;
Trust the heart of your Father when the answer goes beyond what you can see.
Bow the knee;
Lift your eyes toward heaven and believe the One who holds eternity.
And when you don’t understand the purpose of His plan,
In the presence of the King, bow the knee.

There are days when clouds surround us, and the rain begins to fall,
The cold and lonely winds won’t cease to blow.
And there seems to be no reason for the suffering we feel;
We are tempted to believe God does not know.
When the storms arise, don’t forget we live by faith and not by sight.

Bow the knee;
Trust the heart of your Father when the answer goes beyond what you can see.
Bow the knee;
Lift your eyes toward heaven and believe the One who holds eternity.
And when you don’t understand the purpose of His plan,
In the presence of the King, bow the knee.”
