Well, my first week of my personal challenge went fairly well. I tried to focus on making my evening routine a habit this week. It went fairly well, but it’s definitely going to take some work! The biggest thing I learned was that I’m going to have to develop an alternate routine two nights a week. I get home pretty late on Sunday and Wednesday evenings, and I’m used to making excuses for getting things done that I should. So even though I’m tired those nights, I still need to have a modified routine.
Enough about my crazy schedule! I want to here how you’re doing this week. Do you need to work on building habits a little more or was it a smashing success??
For your reading pleasure, here’s a round-up of evening routines from around the blog-o-sphere:
From Simple Mom on Establishing Routines and some Real Morning and Evening Routines from several moms.
Here is a wonderful listing of morning and evening routines from The Mom Writes. This is a great resource if you don’t know where to start on making routine.
Jump Start Your Day tips from zenhabits, and a guest post at Simple Organized Living about Creating Balance for Busy Moms.
From Simple Kids, the beauty of small 15 minute changes.
This site is really neat: it calculates what time you should go to sleep so that you wake up at the right time during your sleep cycle. I’m not sure how well it works though since I haven’t tried it yet. Try it for fun!
Have a great weekend!

I try to do the same thing. Even though most of my work is done at home, I love to have the house neat when I get up in the morning. I try to have the dishes put away and the house straightened up. On Saturdays I try to plan out what I’m going to wear the next day. It really does help and I feel so much better when I get up in the morning.
This is great Holly! Making the most of my time is something I’ve been working on myself a lot lately. It’s amazing what a clean kitchen sink (we don’t have a dishwasher either) will do for you! It makes me so happy to have my dishes washed and put away!
With my crazy schedule at this point in life, having a night-time routine does not work. I’m generally studying until I get too tired to do anymore then I just crawl into bed or fall asleep where I’m at lol. However, I’ve found that an early-morning routine really helps make my whole day smoother and I feel like I get more accomplished. The trick is getting to bed before midnight because 5am comes awfully early!
